Carlander, Guy - 1949 sketch of a proposed El Coronado Lodge at Palo Duro Canyon

This is a sketch Amarillo architect Guy Carlander made in 1949 of the El Coronado Lodge he wanted to build on the rim of Palo Duro Canyon. For some reason it was never built, except for a small section which is acting as the Visitor's Center today.

The sketch resides at the Amarillo Public Library. I went there today and took a photo of it.

  1. I have a postcard of this sketch with the following printed words: "Our Vision of a completed lodge in Palo Duro Canyon. May Your Visions become realities in 1941."
This was signed by Mr & Mrs. Guy A. Carlander.
The card was mailed with the stamped date Dec.2, 1940 to my late husband's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Chamberlain, Clarendon, Texas.
What entity in Amarillo would be interested in having this bit of memorabilia?
